The Hold

People will forever hold you to your past. You don't deserve that anchor in your future. As you go through life experiences you learn and you become better. People from your past will either forgive you and love the new you or don't forgive you at all, but stick around because they want to see you suffer from life's hardships. The real dilemma is you never really know the difference. Everyone from the past can't make it into the future, but for security you can hold on to all the amazing memories you shared in the past. Always pay attention to someones red flags, those things they do to others can one day be you.
My personal experience was people never really loved me for who I was, so no matter what I said or did they created a scenario in their mind that made me the bad gal. My choices and opinions somehow made them feel a certain way about their life, as if me choosing the morally right decision was an insult to their vices. People looked down on my lifestyle and turned up their noses and left me in the cold. I also noticed people were always expecting me to do things for them and I had no idea of their wants and motives and did the opposite. They held grudges forever because of the way it made them feel, honestly how was I supposed to know if people were expecting in silence. I had a falling out with someone that I truly loved and trusted and they tried their hardest to get me to forgive them. After many apologies, effort, and gifts I allowed them back in my life. After learning my personal business and visions and goals they started to create unnecessary shenanigans in my life. I thought this time would be different but it was like I handed them the knife to stab me in the back with. In a nutshell their revenge was to see me experience sufferance, so that I can feel the way they felt. How rude! I cannot change the past and I won't waste any energy trying, but I can say that the woman I am today learned from all the mistakes.
