Medellin, Colombia Part 2

On our day 2 Adventure we woke up early and had the hotel free breakfast. We took a 2 hour taxi ride to visit the Al Penon de Guatape a huge rock that you can hike up and see an amazing view of Colombia. The cab ride there was 250,000 ($80 USD) round trip and the driver was open to stopping along the way for pictures. We purchased tickets for 15,000 ($5 usd) to enter and we were on our way to hike up 740 stairs. I had no idea I would make it up all the stairs lol but with many rest and water break we made it! The view was breath taking and one of the most beautiful views I have witnessed with my own eyes. We took lots of pictures and purchased keepsakes from the gift shop. Before the long trip back down we enjoyed augas frescas, people watched, and laughed about our experience.
Al Penon de Guatape
On our way back to Medellin the sights consisted of countryside homes and farmland. We stopped at a roadside vendor and purchased fresh grilled corn and tasted deep fried corn patties, I totally forgot the name of them in Spanish, but it was delicious. Back on the road we all fell asleep and were back in El Poblado in no time.
We roamed the streets again shopping at the Oviedo shopping mall, purchased Colombian coffee at Carulla, ate donuts at Krispy Kreme, and returned to Hacienda to eat dinner one last time. We returned to our hotel rested and took the JetBlue flight on 11/14/16 at 1am back to Fort Lauderdale.Adventuring around Medellin, Colombia was such an awesome experience and my first time visiting South America! It felt so amazing to spend a couple days experiencing the Colombian way of life with my family, we were totally Gringos. We will definitely make another trip to experience more of what Colombia has to offer.
